š„FIRE
My everything is engulfed, when I look into fire. ā
The process of dead wood turning into ālivingā coals is so fascinating to me. The small, dry, cracked, and knotted sticks are the preferred, for the flame to catch-a-fire, while the green {alive} stuff is resistant, and the larger pieces take longer. ā Lots of air is needed to kindle the fire, ā The wood is slow to respond.ā And boundaries are needed to feed it and tend to it. ā ā
A very close friend of mine that I grew up with told me that growing up in Hawaii, on volcanic rock gave us locals a innate fire. I like to think of the fire in me, how I consciously ignite it and how to initiate ācontrolled burnsā.
Just as we use the smaller, drier sticks to start a fire ā I find the most overlooked or less favorably pieces of me are often the quickest and ripest to kindle, to use to light a fire in my life.
